April's Guest Designer

April's guest designer will be the lovely Kat Poole, I have liked her work for a while now so I can't wait to see what she creates with the Spring to Life kit!

Here's what Kat had to say about herself:
My name is Kat Poole and I currently live in the United States in Southern California. I am originally from the eastern United States, but my work caused me to move to the west coast. I am in love with both places…as long as I am by a beach, I am happy! I have been seriously scrapbooking since the end of 2008 and it has quickly become one of my favorite hobbies. When I am not scrapping, I enjoy going to the beach, working out and spending time with my friends, family and boyfriend.
You can find some more of my work at my blog.

Mr & Mrs

I thought I would show you how I made layout with the True Love kit. I wanted to show you how I used the net and fabric on this layout.
Everything I used is from the kit except the letters, mist and little pearls.
I started off by misting a shape on to the background and I used the pink thread to hand stitch a border around it. I then stuck a line on double sided tape across the shape on the bottom half on it.
I then cut a strip of net and folded it in half and started to created little folds in the net all the way along. Then I folded the net I left one end longer than the other so it looks like two layers.
I then stuck another strip of double sided tape just above the net and cut a strip of the fabric and did the same with the fabric making little folds all the way along.

I made sure I turned the ends over at the end of the net and fabric to make a neat edge. I then trimmed the net to the desired lenght.

I then stuck the lace across the top of it to cover up the top edge of the fabric. I then stuck the photo down, added the title and clustered some of the embellishments on the right hand side.

I hope this inspires you to do something a bit different with your fabric and net from the True Love kit!
If you do have a go please send me a link I would love to see it!

Puppy Dog

Just popped in to show you a layout that Debbie one of my lovely customers made. How cute is this layout?!
I love the way Debbie has ruffled the lace and used the love bunting on this layout, she also used a lace flower and the pins from the kit. It just goes to show the kit doesn't just have to be used for humans!!
Thanks Debbie for letting me share this!

Please send me (makeandcreate @hotmail.com) or leave a link to any layouts you make with my kits I would love to see them!
I always keep my eyes peeled for them around the web too!!

Butter Crunch

I have a layout to share with you today that I made with the Welcome Home kit!
There's nothing I like doing more at home than baking! So I thought the kit would be perfect for some baking photos. This layout is about some biscuits that we make called Butter Crunch. Whenever I make them they remind me of when my mum used to make them all the time when we were kids for when we went on camping trips as we used to go a lot! Everyone always loved them, they are especially good with a hot cup of tea! I wrote about this on the recipe card along with of course the recipe!
I love these colours together and the bit of denim looks great with them too. I used some squares of the green gingham fabric and used pinking shears to cut them out to give a nice edge to it.

I used the net flower but as it was on white, the edge of it didn't show up very well so I inked the edge in red ink. As well as the fabric recipe card and net flower I also used from the kit some strips of the red crepe paper, the paper doily which I cut in half, red trim, a denim back saying, punched buttons and a real button, a wooden mini peg and the heart embellishment.
I added some patterned paper strips to the edge and some red paint drops to finish it off.

Hope you like it! Thanks for looking!

March's Kit

March's kit has finally been added to the shop!! The kit is called Welcome Home and comes in bright green red and white with a hint of denim.
We often scrap about big events or days out but sometimes some of the most special memories happen at home, so this kit will help you scrap those moments.
As with most of my kits there is a lot that's exclusively to The Make and Create shop kits, like the journaling cards, bingo card, home related words backed with denim and of course my handmade embellishments!

So you better go to the shop and grab yourself one!

I really hope you like the kit, I'd love to know what you think about it!

Thanks for stopping by!
