Exploding

I have the first project that Sue has made with the Festive Frost kit to share with you today. Sue made the amazing exploding box and decorated the outside of it with lots of embellishments from the kit. You can see she's even used the silver and blue crepe paper and of course one of the doilies to cover the top.
 Here's the inside:
There is even a little tutorial on how Sue made it on her blog it's here.

Watch out for more embellishments that will be added to the shop soon, not another kit but something a little different which I hope you will all like!

Thanks for popping in!

Festive Frost kit

The new kit, Festive Frost is now in the shop! The kit is packed full of white, silver and bright blue.
As well as scrapping your Christmas photo with this kit, it's not too Christmassy so it's also good for snow and frosty photos. Here's some close ups!

I made this layout with the kit, I had this lovely snowy photo to scrap so I kept to 2 colours, the silver and white. I only added cardstock, letters and a small piece of grey spotty patterned paper, the rest is all from the kit.  I misted over one of the doilies in silver shimmer mist to make the pretty pattern and used some of the silver thread to stitch a frame around the photo.
I took some of the metallic silver crepe paper to use at the bottom of the photo under a bit of patterned paper and added some silver ribbon and white lace. I also added some of the misted silver doily under the edges on the patterned paper. I then used some gems and felt snow flakes to finish it off!
On to the winner of the RAK, a few people suggested this colour scheme but the first person to suggested it was (drum roll please!) Ellie Sedgwick! Ellie, if you could email me your address please I will put you prize in the post to you, you have won a selection of my handmade embellishments.

I really hope you like the kit, let me know what you think!

New guest designer

My guest designer for the next new kit is Sue Roberts.
Here's a bit about her;
Hello! I’m Sue, proud guest designer for The Make and Create Shop. My scrapping habit grew out of making albums of holiday memorabilia. I've always had a fascination for paper and stationery and have loved to 'cut and stick' since I was a child. My mum says when I first discovered scissors I cut everything including the dog's whiskers! I scrap as often as I can and love to use bright colours and bold patterns. My favourite embellishments most definitely are buttons, sewn not stuck, and my best scrapbook subject is my adorable great-niece, Sophia. I am headteacher of a special school and my creative hobby gives me a way of relaxing after a stressful day at work. I am very lucky to have my own scrap room and a patient husband who doesn't too much mind the frequent deliveries of pizza boxes!

I can't wait to see what Sue will create with the new kit!

Hope everyone's ready for the new kit hitting the selves tomorrow!! I will give you a hint of what it's going to be, it's called 'Festive Forst'! Make sure you come back tomorrow to check it out and to see if your the winner of the small RAK!!

Papercraft Inspirations

Tessa my guest designer for the Golden leaves kit has one of the gorgeous layouts she made featured on the Papercraft Inspirations website! They said some lovely things about my handmade flower embellishments!

Thank you to those of you who suggested colour schemes for my next Christmas kit. There were some great suggestions, you've got me thinking about other colour schemes for future kits but I could only go with one colour scheme for this kit! I went with a scheme a couple of people suggested, I have made it into a kit and it will be hitting the shop soon so watch this space! I will announce the winner of the small RAK when the kit is launched as if I told you now it would give the colour scheme away!!

There will be no December kit as I will had two out in November. I going to try something a bit different for December instead as everyone will be busy preparing for the festive season!!

I'll be back soon!

November's New Kit

The new kit is now in the shop!! It's called Traditional Cheer and it's a Christmas kit in traditional colours.
Here it is:
You can buy it from the shop tab now!

I made this layout with the kit. I just added the green patterned paper as the photo mat the rest is from the kit! I used the sequin waste as a mask to mist over, it's good as the mist just wipes off so you can still use it as it is. I used a lenght of the red crepe paper and put folds into it and cut a piece the gold crepe paper and put it underneath the red.
I used the red thread from the kit to put a bit of detail on one of the green felt stars and added a star to the centre.  I painted the chipboard gingerbread man in red and gave him some detail in white. I used the lovely Christmas twine and tied a bow in it and threaded 2 of the decorative pins through it.
I love clustering the embellishment together to give interest.

It felt good to scrap a bit of Christmas as I have had the photos from last Christmas sat here for nearly a year and never got around to scrapping them. I don't feel like scrapping Christmas is January! Nows the chance to get last years photos scrapped! When do you scrap your Christmas photos? It does start to put you in the festive mood!

Hope you all like the kit! Thanks for taking the time to look!
