Merry Christmas!

Here are a few of my Christmas journal pages that I used some of my handmade embellishments on from my mini kits. The first one I used the red gingham flower from the Traditional Cheer embellishment pack.
On this one I used another red  and green flower embellishment from the Traditional Cheer pack.
And this one I used the blue snowflake embellishment from the Festive Frost embellishment pack. They are great for using in Christmas journal just the right size too!
All that's left for me to say is Merry Christmas to you all and thank you for all your interest and orders from my little shop it's much appreciated. I'll be back with more embellishments to tempt you with in the new year.
Thanks for looking as always! xx

A Snowy Layout

I have another lovely project from Sue, the Festive Frost kit's designer to share with you today. Sue made this lovely layout using the embellishments from the kit. How cute is that snowman?!
She used from the kit, the bingo card, buttons, frosty words, a strip of blue crepe paper, bling, sequins and the snowflakes.

I love the deep blue background on this, it really makes the white stand out and a great bit of glitter too!

Hope you are all getting on well with your Christmas prep and keeping warm!
Thanks for popping in!

Sue made the amazing exploding box and decorated the outside of it with lots of embellishments from the kit. You can see she's even used the silver and blue crepe paper and of course one of the doilies to cover the top.
 Here's the inside:
There is even a little tutorial on how Sue made it on her blog it's here.

Festive Frost kit

The new kit, Festive Frost is now in the shop! The kit is packed full of white, silver and bright blue.
As well as scrapping your Christmas photo with this kit, it's not too Christmassy so it's also good for snow and frosty photos. Here's some close ups!

I made this layout with the kit, I had this lovely snowy photo to scrap so I kept to 2 colours, the silver and white. I only added cardstock, letters and a small piece of grey spotty patterned paper, the rest is all from the kit.  I misted over one of the doilies in silver shimmer mist to make the pretty pattern and used some of the silver thread to stitch a frame around the photo.
I took some of the metallic silver crepe paper to use at the bottom of the photo under a bit of patterned paper and added some silver ribbon and white lace. I also added some of the misted silver doily under the edges on the patterned paper. I then used some gems and felt snow flakes to finish it off!
On to the winner of the RAK, a few people suggested this colour scheme but the first person to suggested it was (drum roll please!) Ellie Sedgwick! Ellie, if you could email me your address please I will put you prize in the post to you, you have won a selection of my handmade embellishments.

I really hope you like the kit, let me know what you think!

New guest designer

My guest designer for the next new kit is Sue Roberts.
Here's a bit about her;
Hello! I’m Sue, proud guest designer for The Make and Create Shop. My scrapping habit grew out of making albums of holiday memorabilia. I've always had a fascination for paper and stationery and have loved to 'cut and stick' since I was a child. My mum says when I first discovered scissors I cut everything including the dog's whiskers! I scrap as often as I can and love to use bright colours and bold patterns. My favourite embellishments most definitely are buttons, sewn not stuck, and my best scrapbook subject is my adorable great-niece, Sophia. I am headteacher of a special school and my creative hobby gives me a way of relaxing after a stressful day at work. I am very lucky to have my own scrap room and a patient husband who doesn't too much mind the frequent deliveries of pizza boxes!

I can't wait to see what Sue will create with the new kit!

Hope everyone's ready for the new kit hitting the selves tomorrow!! I will give you a hint of what it's going to be, it's called 'Festive Forst'! Make sure you come back tomorrow to check it out and to see if your the winner of the small RAK!!

Paper Mad

Here's another layout that I made with the 'Traditional Cheer' Christmas embellishment kit. The photo of my dog Jack having a wonderful time with all the wrapping paper last Christmas day, he loves ripping it all up!!
I will be back soon to announce my guest designer for the next kit which will be hitting the shop this Friday 19th November so make sure you come back soon!

Papercraft Inspirations

Tessa my guest designer for the Golden leaves kit has one of the gorgeous layouts she made featured on the Papercraft Inspirations website! They said some lovely things about my handmade flower embellishments!

Thank you to those of you who suggested colour schemes for my next Christmas kit. There were some great suggestions, you've got me thinking about other colour schemes for future kits but I could only go with one colour scheme for this kit! I went with a scheme a couple of people suggested, I have made it into a kit and it will be hitting the shop soon so watch this space! I will announce the winner of the small RAK when the kit is launched as if I told you now it would give the colour scheme away!!

There will be no December kit as I will had two out in November. I going to try something a bit different for December instead as everyone will be busy preparing for the festive season!!

I'll be back soon!

November's New Kit

The new kit is now in the shop!! It's called Traditional Cheer and it's a Christmas kit in traditional colours.
Here it is:
You can buy it from the shop tab now!

I made this layout with the kit. I just added the green patterned paper as the photo mat the rest is from the kit! I used the sequin waste as a mask to mist over, it's good as the mist just wipes off so you can still use it as it is. I used a lenght of the red crepe paper and put folds into it and cut a piece the gold crepe paper and put it underneath the red.
I used the red thread from the kit to put a bit of detail on one of the green felt stars and added a star to the centre.  I painted the chipboard gingerbread man in red and gave him some detail in white. I used the lovely Christmas twine and tied a bow in it and threaded 2 of the decorative pins through it.
I love clustering the embellishment together to give interest.

It felt good to scrap a bit of Christmas as I have had the photos from last Christmas sat here for nearly a year and never got around to scrapping them. I don't feel like scrapping Christmas is January! Nows the chance to get last years photos scrapped! When do you scrap your Christmas photos? It does start to put you in the festive mood!

Hope you all like the kit! Thanks for taking the time to look!

Fabulous Fall

I have another one of Tessa's gorgeous layouts to share with you today.
I love the way Tessa has plaited crepe paper and the cluster of embellishments in the corner. Tessa even made her own flower to go with the ones from the kit using the deep red tissue paper from the kit.

Don't forget the 'Golden Leaves' kit is still available as well as the Golden Leaves half kit so go and get one so you can create some gorgeous layouts like Tessa has!

Anybody up for a little RAK? All you need to do is let me know which colours you would like a Christmas embellishment kit in (except red and green)? The winning suggestion will get the RAK, so just let me know!
Thanks.

I Need Your Help!

As the festive season is getting nearer I been thinking about my Christmas embellishment kits and thinking what I can put in them and about different colour themes.

Are you doing a Christmas journal this year and are looking for something a bit different to embellish your festive pages?

Please let me know in the comments or email me makeandcreate(at)hotmail.com, any suggestions are very welcome and even if you have ideas of what to put in it just let me know!
You never know your suggestions might make it into one of my kits!

Fungi

Aren't days like today the best kind of day? Such lovely bright sunshine, shinny on the bright colourful leaves with crisp leaves crunching under your feet, I think they are!
Today inspired me to create another layout with the Golden Leaves kit. Here's the kit...

Here's my layout...

I took this photo of some nice looking fungi or mushrooms in my garden.
I like the way you can create different feels with this kit. Most of what I used on my layout is from the kit I just added some copper shimmer mist, a photo mat and alphas.
I love the textures on this layout, the shinny sequin trim with the hessian tape and material flower.

I hope you've been out and about with your camera capturing those lovely autumnal sites and colours!

Hope you all like it!

Thank you for Rebekah for being September's guest designer, she did a great job with the 'Back to School' kit.
I'm lucky enough to have another great guest designer for October she is the lovely Tessa Buys!

Another great layout made with no patterned paper! It's all from the kit, Rebekah just added just paint and mist. I love how she used the tissue paper and crepe paper from the kit on her layout.

In other news, I think I have managed to sort the buttons in the shop now, they are now where they should be!! It took some working out but they should be ok now, let me know if you have any problems with them. I'll leave the other buttons in the side bar for the time being, just in case!

Kit layouts

One of the lovely ladies, Sue, who have bought some of my kits from the shop, kindly shared this layout with me.
She used lots of the 'Back to School' kit on this one. I love the giant puzzle pieces and the way she has added buttons to the middle of the felt stars, they look great!

While I was having a look at Sue blog, I spyed this other layout she made with the 'All Aboard' kit.
I love how Sue used some of the kit on something other than what it was meant for. It shows how versatile the kits can be. My handmade felt flowers and the stripy ribbon from the kit go brilliantly with the outfit the little girl is wearing. What a great layout!
Thanks so much for sharing these with me Sue, it is so great to see how different people use my kits. If any of you have created something wonderful with my kits please let me know, I would love to see it! makeandcreate@ hotmail.com
